Lachesilla pedicularia
A small (c.1.5-2mm) barkfly. Uncommon in Britain and Ireland. Males and females often have long wings (macropterous) while short winged (brachypterous) specimens are occasionally found.
Lachesilla pedicularia The forewing is completely hairless. It can be distinguished from other Lachesilla species by the features shown in the photograph.
Lachesilla pedicularia The species can be distinguished from other, rarer, Lachesilla species by having brown stripes on the abdomen.

The subgenital plate forms a simple curved shape (cf. L. quercus).
