Amphigerontia bifasciata A moderately large (c.4.5mm) barkfly. Uncommon in Britain and Ireland.
Amphigerontia bifasciata Forewing mainly colourless with an indistinct dark spot above the areola postica cell. If the radius vein near the spot is extended it is not continuous with vein c (cf. A. contaminata).

The upper extension of the subgenital plate is short (cf. A. contaminata).

The lobe at the apex of the hypandrium is almost parallel sided (cf. A. contaminata).
