Enderleinella obsoleta A moderately small (c.3mm) barkfly that is strongly associated with conifers/evergreens. Uncommon in Britain and Ireland.
Enderleinella obsoleta Strongly bulbous postclypeus and yellowish body are characteristic features. Females have relatively large green eyes (blackish and very largein males). Antennae much shorter than forewing.
Enderleinella obsoleta E. obsoleta sometimes accompanies Valenzuela burmeisteri which similarly usually occurs on conifers/evergreens. E. obsoleta can be distinguished by having a narrow end to the pterostigma cell (sub-parallel) and the vein Cu2 without short hairs (seta). The areola postica cell is also often noticeably small.
