Uncommon in Britain and Ireland.
Summary: mainly found in leaf litter, coniferous/evergreen branches and on trunks.
Associations:
- Tree trunks: ash, oak and pine.
- Deciduous branches: oak.
- Conifer/evergreen branches: box, cedar, cypress family, gorse, holly, ivy, larch, pine, Rhododendron and yew.
- Other microhabitats: decayed fence-post, foxglove seed-head, in leaf litter, under logs, under stones and under tufts of fine grass etc. close to high water mark.
Sampling techniques: beating branches, brushing tree trunks, hand searching and litter sieving.
