Uncommon in Britain and Ireland.

Summary: found mainly on branches of deciduous and coniferous/evergreen trees and bushes (no records from trunks).

Associations:

  • Deciduous branches: apple, ash, beech, birch, blackthorn, elder, hawthorn, hazel, oak and sallow.
  • Conifer/evergreen branches: holly, larch and pine.
  • Other microhabitats: swept beneath birches in marshy woodland.

Sampling techniques: beating branches and sweep netting.
