Mesopsocus immunis (Stephens, 1836)

Uncommon in Britain and Ireland.

Summary: found mainly on branches of deciduous and coniferous/evergreen trees/bushes (particularly common on hawthorn).

Associations:

  • Deciduous branches: ash, beech, birch, elder, hawthorn, hazel, lime, oak, rose, rowan, sallow, sweet chestnut, sycamore and sea buckthorn.
  • Tree trunks: beech and pine.
  • Conifer/evergreen branches: broom, cypress family, fir, holly, ivy, larch, laurel, pines and yew.

Sampling techniques: beating branches, brushing tree trunks, light trap and suction trap.
