Summary: found on very wide range of trees, shrubs and other microhabitats.

Associations:

  • Deciduous branches: apple, alder, ash, beech, birch, blackthorn, bramble, elder, elm, hawthorn, hazel, horse chestnut, lime, oak, plum, poplar, sallow, sweet chestnut, sycamore, sea buckthorn and willow.
  • Deciduous trunks: beech and oak.
  • Conifer/evergreen branches: broom, cherry laurel, Chinese juniper, cypress family, fir, gorse, hemlock (Tsuga), holly, ivy, laurel, pines, privet, Rhododendron, sitka spruce, Turkey oak and yew.
  • Other microhabitats: Clematis, haystack, leaf litter, mayweed (Matricaria) tuft, mistletoe, stone wall of house, straw.

Sampling techniques: beating branches, brushing tree trunks, malaise trap, pitfall trap and sweep netting.
